Santa Claus has announced that he will be visiting Sutton Hall Railway on Sunday December 3rd.
The big man himself took a quick break from his toy making at the North Pole today to tell reporters that he was ‘very excited’ about spending time with local children at the mini railway located on Shopland Road just a few miles from Southend Town Centre.
He said: ‘I have just telephoned the railway to let them know the good news!’
’It’s lovely down there, and the children always give me a warm welcome!’
’My elves have already given me this year’s list for South Essex and there are more nice children than ever before so I am really looking forward to it.’
’They have even told me that they are turning the station into a grotto, and the tea and biscuits are usually pretty nice there as well.’
’I will help everyone get off and get on the train for a few hours before the evening arrives and I set off for the long trip home to Lapland.’
’I may even get the mainline train from Rochford as long as there isn’t a bus running instead – perhaps I will just stick to my trusty reindeer for a test run instead.’
According to the railway’s Facebook page, tickets on the day are £2.00 for all passengers, with trains running from 12pm until 4pm. No booking required.
