A bumper day of fun has been planned for Leigh Fire Station’s annual open day that takes place on Saturday 30th September from 11am until 4pm.
Every fire station open day in Essex is always about much more than the fire service, with stalls from other emergency services often in attendance to raise much-needed funds.
You can find out more on their official Facebook page that has posted:
Come to Leigh Fire Station on Saturday 30 September for our annual summer open day.
Meet our firefighters, sit in our fire engine and explore our fire station.
It’s a great fun family day out, FREE entry, everyone welcome!
You can find the fire station in Mountdale Gardens, Leigh On Sea, Essex, SS9 4AA, and as always there will be plenty of cool photo opportunities on the day.
Speaking from experience, youngsters and not-so-youngsters love getting inside one of their many fire rescue vehicles!
It is incredibly important for children to become familiar with the fire service and their vital work from a very young age, and these open days offer a fascinating insight into the everyday workings of a real fire station.
On top of this, these events also introduce children to the dangers of fire, and this is a lesson that needs to be repeated again and again.
The event has received rave reviews in the past, with one satisfied ‘customer’ remarking:
Open day at Leigh Fire Station this Saturday. We have been for the last 2 years, and my two have always loved it. So much going on too!
