The organisers of one of the biggest Love On The Rocks groups on Facebook have made a public appeal for the people of Southend to create painted stones that can be left all along the seafront this weekend.
In case you haven’t heard of Love On The Rocks before, it is a fun trending activity for all of the family to enjoy where you paint images on small rocks and pebbles and then leave them for other people to find and enjoy.
Some choose to take them home, some choose to rehide them elsewhere for others to enjoy – some even move them to a new location.
There are no real rules to follow, other than treating the stones with respect and love as often they take many, many hours to create.
Think of it as a sort of geocaching without all of the technology that is involved!
After one family left a cute little line of ladybird stones along the seafront in Southend last week, the organisers of the group would like members of the public to get involved and help to create a really, really, really, REALLY long line of painted stones this weekend to coincide with the Southend 10K race on Sunday.
They have also promised to pick them all up so that they don’t fall foul of any littering laws – the ‘chain’ will be left in places where they pose no danger to the passing public.
